Praia do Norte Trail Run 2027 on Faial

Praia do Norte is a small parish on the north-west coast of Faial, a short drive from the Capelinhos Volcano. It hosts its own trail running day, and the 9th edition is set for Sunday, 11 April 2027, according to the regional events calendar.

Three ways to take part

The programme is built for different levels. There is a trail run for runners, a walk for those who prefer to cover the ground at their own pace, and a shorter mini trail. It is a local, community-run event rather than a big international race, which is part of its charm: you get to see the parish's paths and coastline alongside the people who live there.

Faial in April can be mild one hour and wet and windy the next, so pack a light waterproof layer whether you run or walk.
